IS BALDNESS HEREDITARY?

Learn If Balding Cures Can Help

Many people write to us and ask, is baldness hereditary? The two major causes of baldness are genetics and hormones. The loss of hair due to genetics is commonly referred to as “baldness hereditary”. While there are no miracle balding cures, there are solutions that can help. Before discussing possible remedies, its important to understand a little about hair loss.

Most people are surprised to learn that they will lose between 50 and 100 hairs per day. While that sounds like a lot, considering the average scalp has 100,000 – 150,000 hairs, it is not very much. This is just the normal hair growth cycle, and these hairs will eventually grow back. If you’re losing more than 100 hairs per day, there may be something wrong. Alopecia is the medical term for hair loss (visible balding or thin patches).

While it may not seem fair, the fact remains that most of us will lose some or all of our hair. While losing it at age 60 or more is somewhat expected, many people lose hair much earlier. Most often its due to hormones and genetics (baldness hereditary), but there are other factors that can cause hair loss. We will now go over some of the causes of balding.

Causes Of Balding

As we said, there is no cure for baldness hereditary. However, some of these other causes of balding are reversible:

Alopecia areata is a skin disease that affects almost 2% of the population. It usually starts as round bald patches on the scalp, and can progress to total baldness. In rare cases, total body hair loss can occur. For most people, the hair will grow back within several months to 2 years.

Medications. Certain medications have hair loss as a side effect. Also, hair loss can be caused by some cancers, and is a side effect of chemotherapy drugs.

Hair treatments and hair styling. Chemically treating your hair, such as bleaching or coloring, can cause damage. Usually this is only temporary. Traction alopecia can occur when a person wears their hair tightly pulled back. This condition is caused by tension placed on the scalp, and can be permanent if this style is worn for too long.

Stress. Sudden severe stress can result in hair loss. This slowing of new hair growth is called telogen effluvium. The fallout usually occurs 2-4 months after the stressful event. Typical causes include childbirth or surgery, and it usually self corrects.

Nutritional deficiencies can contribute to hair loss. People who suffer from anorexia and bulimia are prone to losing their hair. (The balding cure we recommend below, Provillus, helps to promote hair growth thru nutrition).

So what can you do for baldness hereditary? Which balding cures work best? We will now go over your options.

What Can A Doctor Do For You?

Doctors that specialize in hair loss will suggest one of two options for baldness hereditary: Hair transplants or medication.

Hair transplants if done properly, are a great option. On the other hand, they are expensive, and can be very painful. You need to carefully research who ever you are considering for this surgery. Nothing looks worse than a bad hair transplant.

Medications such as minoxidil (Rogaine) or finasteride (Propecia) have limited results, and are very expensive. Only about 25-30% of users with baldness hereditary have success with these medications. You must also consider that they must be used for life. If you stop taking the drug, you loose all of the hair growth. Since it is used for life, you need to discuss the potential side effects with your doctor.

Since these are the two primary options a doctor can recommend, many people consider a natural remedy. Natural remedies tend to have no side effects, and for many people is a better option.

Natural Balding Cures

If you are looking at different balding cures, natural treatments should be considered. Natural treatments have many benefits over medications. In addition to having less or no side effects, natural treatments often provide other healthy benefits to your body.

The problem is, knowing which natural remedy works best. There are countless products that claim to be effective balding cures. Unfortunately, most of them do not live up to their claims.
