Pubic warts (Condylomata acuminata) are sexually transmitted, and are caused by a virus called human papilloma virus (HPV). HPV is spread during skin-to-skin sexual contact, including vaginal, anal, and occasionally oral sex. There are more than 60 types of HPV, and several types can cause genital warts.

Symptoms
Symptoms of pubic warts include:
- Itchiness. This includes the penis, scrotum, anal area, vulva (vulvar itch).
- Increased dampness near the growths.
- Women can have an increase in vaginal discharge.
